This month’s meeting stars Matthew Lai – a property investor who is experienced in subdividing and developing properties.
Matthew graduated from Otago University with a degree in finance, and began investing in property in 2006. Previously working for both Tower and AMP, he was then a house-Dad, he was looking after his first (of two) children, and he was looking for a challenge.
He’s invested over the past eight years, and seen through the boom and bust times. Matthew understands property investment can be a tough game. During the last recession, he also looked for a cash flow business and ended up in the furniture removal area too.
Matthew was born in Hong Kong, has two kids, two cats, three dogs and 16 goldfish, and cannot resist a chocolate biscuit!
Tonight’s talk is an investor story and will interest anybody who is looking to subdivide or develop their properties. Come along to hear how Matthew got where he is - the mistakes he made along the way and the lessons he learnt getting there.
